Lisbeth just delivered my morning coffee with coffee cake. She thinks the coffee cake part is strange because they serve that at night with coffee a couple hours after dessert. They don't have sweets for breakfast, but sardines, cheese, breads, meats. They are all very delicious. Pancakes are never for breakfast, but for dinner. We head to Kristiansand today where cousin Morten Sorlie lives except he is in Seattle this month! We are having nice weather finally. We will be eating breakfast on Lisbeth and Per Olav's deck in the sunshine! On Thursday went to the cabin (south of Oslo near Sweden) and took a boat ride on the Oslo Fjord and a picnic on a rocky island out in the fjord. Many other boats were there as well since it was the first nice day for a while. All factories and most business shut down for 3 weeks starting last week so their employees can go on holiday. Yesterday went to Drøback south of Langhus where Lisbeth, Per Olav and Ingrid live to see the old fishing town on Oslo Fjord that is now a tourist destination with Christmas shops, etc. It is like a Leavenworth on the sea. Decorates itself for Christmas. Cobblestone streets and beautiful old colorful buildings. Also had a flea market so of course Mom was pretty excited. Actually had some pretty neat stuff. The town has a beautiful harbor and a view up north to Oslo. It is a beautiful day today but Britain is having heavy rains which are headed our way. We are headed to Bergen which is the rainiest city in Norway so this should be interesting. I think I need better rain gear!
